What Size Stove Do I Need4th December 2017

Let’s say you want to achieve a relaxing room temperature of 21ºC when the external air temperature is at freezing (0ºC), which is often the case in the winter months! You will then need approximately 1kW of heat output for every 14 cubic meters of space. To get the right answer, simply measure the length, width and height of your room and multiply the three figures together. So if your living room measures 7m long by 4m wide with a height of 2.5m, then it’s 70 cu. m. of space. You then divide the answer (70) by 14 and this means you will require a 5kW stove.

Of course, this is just a guide because other factors come into play, such as the number of outside walls, the size of your windows, whether they are double glazed and the age of your home. If you’ve already decided on the shop or individual who will be installing your stove, then it’s always best to have them pop round to your home for an initial check first. They can then take all of the factors into account and help you decide on the right size stove for your room.

Thankfully, UK Stoves has so many different makes and models to choose from, so there will always be a stove on our website that’s just the right size to heat your room, while we have a huge range of modern and traditional designs to choose from, and our collection includes wood burning stoves, multi fuel, inset, boiler, gas and electric. If you’d like to learn more about our huge range of stoves and get a better idea on the right model for your property, please do not hesitate to call us on 01604 861 010 today.
